Harvest

Salmon harvest reached a new record in 2025, totalling just over 141 thousand tonnes in round weight. In gutted weight, the 2025 harvest amounted to just under 116 thousand tonnes. This made 2025 a new record year for Faroese salmon production.

Before 2025, the previous record was set in 2021, when the harvest was approximately 115 thousand tonnes in round weight, and approx. 95 thousand tonnes in guttet weight. Production in 2025 was therefore more than 22% higher than the previous record.

The Faroese Aquaculture Association collects weekly statistics on the total harvest of farmed salmon in the Faroe Islands, and publishes them on the websites of the Faroese Aquaculture Association and the House of Industry. The harvest figures can be found on the left-hand side of this page
